Bingester — Privacy Policy

Bingester does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to its developer. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

What the app stores, and where

Your list of shows, the episodes you have marked as watched, and the sports teams you have chosen to follow are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, that data is synced through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices. The developer has no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sports schedules themselves are not stored this way. They are held in a temporary cache that iOS can delete at any time, are not backed up, and are not synced to iCloud — only which teams you follow is.

If you choose to add a Watchmode API key, it is stored in your device's Keychain and is used only to make requests from your device to Watchmode. It is never sent to the developer.

Services the app contacts

Bingester talks directly to these services from your device. No request passes through any server run by the developer.

• TVMaze — show and episode information, including searches you type. See the TVMaze privacy policy.
• Watchmode — streaming availability. Contacted only if you have added your own Watchmode API key in Settings. See the Watchmode privacy policy.
• ESPN — sports schedules, broadcast listings and team logos, for the leagues, teams and dates you view. Contacted only when you open the Sports tab or its team picker; if you never do, the app never contacts ESPN. Team search in the picker filters a roster already fetched to your device, so what you type is not sent to ESPN. Schedule data comes from site.api.espn.com and team logos from a.espncdn.com. These services receive the network requests your device makes to them, which necessarily includes your IP address and what you searched for or which show you opened. Their own policies govern what they do with that.

Notifications

New-episode notifications are generated on your device. Nothing is sent to a push server, and no notification data leaves your device.

Children

Bingester is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
